An update for the group chat

The app is one team short. Rally is on the couch.

Rally was the team fitness tracker for the four people in your group chat. No streaks. No shame. Just the tally. Then the tally stopped, and it would be off-brand to make anyone feel bad about that. Including us.

Rally. The couch is not the roadmap.

The idea (still good, we checked)

Every other fitness app sounds like a coach. Rally sounded like a mate.

One daily team challengeReps, minutes or steps. One number for the whole team. Everyone chips in through the day.
The tap is the proofNo sensors pretending effort happened. You did the thing, you tapped, the group chat knew you were there.
Nothing to breakNo streaks. No red rings. No leaderboard inside the team. Stats only ever climbed. Until they didn't.
Built for four peopleNamed, real, already in your chat. It broke at the fifth on purpose. It broke at the zeroth by accident.
What happened

The thread that started strong and ended in silence.

"new app. we all using it?"
"100%"
[16 weeks of silence]

We once wrote, on this very page, that Rally is the version of that thread that doesn't die. We would like to withdraw that statement.

In fairness, we also promised the app could never make you feel worse than when you opened it. We kept that one. Nobody opened it.

The numbers - real this time

Ways to fail. Rally has no failure states, so technically this isn't one.

Accounts. Three of them were us checking the deploy worked. It did.

Drawing board. Currently in use.

Missed days never reset anything. They just weren't logged. There have now been quite a few of them.

Back to the drawing board.

We keep trying. Sometimes the try needs a lie down first.

Kitchen-floor reps still count. 30 press-ups while the pasta water boils is still 30 press-ups. You'll just have to tell the group chat yourself.

Pick a number. Tell your mates. Do the thing.
